House By The Video Store recently competed in the Louisville 48 Hour Horror Film Project, and we are now able to share the finished product with everyone! Our short is titled A Brush With Death and should be a quick watch, as we tried to make it as lean and mean as possible. We were assigned the horror sub-genre of B-Movie (after passing on Found Footage) and had 48 hours total time to shoot, edit, and score the entire project. Once you watch the short film, it should be pretty evident that we paid homage to one of our favorite directors and series of movies, let us know in the comments if you know what the influence was.
This entire project would not have been possible if we didn’t have an amazing cast and crew, and we got rather lucky on that end. Everyone put in ridiculous hours to get this done and turned in on time. We won the Audience Award and Best Film from the 2015 48HFP Horror Project with this short film, and get to take it to compete nationally at Filmapalooza in March 2016. You can see the entire listing of the cast and crew below.
