In the ever shrinking world of indie video shops, no store stands out more than Seattle’s Scarecrow Video. On top of having one of the deepest media libraries around, they are the largest independently owned video store in the country. On Saturday, August 1st, a crowd of hardcore horror fanatics will raid the shelves for a special event. While this seems like a normal daily occurrence for Scarecrow, on this day they will host a VHS swap meet entitled, “The Swapping Dead.”
From 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM these sick and twisted fans will be able to buy, sell, and trade VHS tapes, DVDs, posters, t-shirts, and tons of other types of horror related memorabilia and collectibles. There will be booths galore at affordable prices and the best part, admission is totally free! Scarecrow Video has thousands of movies (available in multiple formats) ranging from the new and more modern to the rare and long sought after, this place is basically a movie nerd’s wet dream.
We highly suggest that if you are a horror fan in the Seattle area on August 1st, that you drop everything you’re doing and swap with the dead!! A full day of finding awesome collectibles, meeting demented movie fans like yourself, and roaming the aisles of the world renowned “best video store that has ever existed.” Sounds like a day you shouldn’t pass up, to us.
