If you’re going to be looking for something to watch this weekend, I would suggest that you check out director Adam Wingard’s latest film, The Guest. It’ll hit Netflix Watch Instant on July 25th. Without giving too much away about the story, this is a fun throwback film that has some twists and turns and a synth soundtrack reminiscent of John Carpenter’s work and plenty of 80’s films.
The movie stars Dan Stevens, whom you may recognize from Downton Abbey, and Maika Monroe. Monroe also recently appeared in It Follows, which was also somewhat of a throwback to the horror films of the 80’s with an amazing soundtrack to match. In fact, The Guest and It Follows would make a pretty nice double feature.
