The trailer for the newest film from Guillermo del Toro has just been released and it’s looking like a solid return to the horror genre for the director. In interviews he has stated that this is his first English language movie aimed at adults. Even though his previous movie ‘Blade II’ was Rated R, it was a comic book adaptation and his more recent film ‘Pacific Rim’ (Rated PG-13) was about mechs and monsters fighting. The trailer for ‘Crimson Peak’ oozes atmosphere and seems to be the type of movie where the setting is almost its own character. According to IMDB, here is a brief description of the movie’s story:
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
